SPENCER BETTS, BS, CFP®

Spencer Betts is the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and financial consultant with Bickling Financial Services in Lexington, Massachusetts. Spencer started with Bickling Financial Services, Inc., in 2000. As CCO Spencer is in charge of oversight and supervision of the investment representatives within Bickling Financial Services, Inc. Spencer enjoys making sure the processes each professional follows for all client interactions at Bickling Financial Services, Inc. is at a high standard of professional conduct. Whenever possible Spencer acts under the rules and guidelines of the Fiduciary Standard.

He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS™ and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary™. Starting in 2015 Spencer became a CFP® Board Ambassador. In this role Spencer helps the Board spread it message of financial education, the financial planning process and the need for financial planning education. Spencer has been quoted in numerous articles on his opinions on the financial planning process and how it can help individuals reach their financial goals.

Spencer has presented about the process for becoming a financial planner to Physics students at his Alma mater, Old Dominion University, multiple times. Locally he spoke to Bentley College students about the CFP® program and the process for becoming a Certified Financial Planner.

Spencer earned his B.S. in Physics from Old Dominion University, his designation CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS™ from the College for Financial Planning and his Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies. He holds series 6, 7, 63 and 24 securities registrations through Purshe Kaplan Sterling Investments and also holds an insurance producer license. As a Past President of Lexington Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow, a Mason and a member of a number of networking groups, Spencer stays active within the community. He lives in Bedford with his wife, Jessica, and two small children, Taylor and Ryan.

  1. I played soccer at Old Dominion University my freshman year. I was only a practice players but did play division 1 for a year.
  2. I enjoying doing CrossFit 3 or 4 days per week.
  3. I still try to keep up with my son on my snowboard.
  4. In the summer time I enjoy spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee.
  5. I enjoying cooking on my grill. I will cook anything from steaks and vegetables to pizza.
